Class Dojo In our kindergarten classroom, we use a behavior management system called ClassDojo. It uses little monster avatars to track your child’s behavior. Your child can earn positive green points, or negative red points depending on what choices he or she makes. There are also yellow points, which are warnings or reminders. As a parent, you are able to view your child’s progress. A note will be sent home with parent and student codes that you and your child can use to change his or her monster and to see how your child is doing in class. Please follow the directions on the paper to sign up to receive reports. I have used Class Dojo for many years, and the parents and students all respond positively to it. Class Dojo is also the primary method that I use to keep in contact with parents. You can send a personal message to me and I can respond quickly.
There are many positive and negative behaviors listed for our class. 5 of these are based on our PRIDE expectations. These chosen behaviors may be changed as our class needs change. For every 5 positive green points that your child earns, he/she will be able to clip up. For every 2 negative red points that your child earns, he/she will have to clip down. Extreme situations may still warrant clipping up or down immediately and/or trips to the office.
